Amy Spassov Collage, Oils on Wood Spassov’s creative approach to painting includes glimpses of her interior design training as well as a fascination with apparel design and the female form. Her figures are provocative and venture into the unspoken discoveries of women alone with themselves. At first glance the viewer will see a subtle order to the work, but a prudent inspection will reveal that impulsiveness rules. While not careful examinations of the human form, the work lends itself to a conceptual sense of self that is as playful as it is introspective. Spassov collages layer upon layer and then deducts these realizations into her completed vision. |
